THE 2013 AWARDS ASSEMBLYBY: ALYSSA
EDITED: JENNY
The awards assembly is a time to celebrate Culver's best students throughout the year from 4th to 8th graders. There are an assortment of awards that students can receive. There is about one award in every subject including math, reading, science, social studies, music, art, P.E, foreign languages, and much more. Your teacher nominates these awards, so I hope you've been on your best behavior.

There are special awards that eighth graders receive for their achievements. That are in honor of some amazing people, like Brian Byrne Award. The Brian Byrne award is a very special award that is dedicated to a boy who touched many hearts. This boy had a serious medical condition, but he didn't let that stop him from being positive and helping others. Brian Byrne died in his freshman year of high school due to medical conditions. This award is given to the student who displays the true meaning of spirit. He or she find the best of everyone and remains cheerful through rough times and looks for the rainbows of life on a daily basis.
