Dear Daniel,Help! I'm playing survival mode in Minecraft but I just keep on being blown up by those creepers! How can I keep myself safe?
Sincerely, Victor
Dear Victor,Mobs don't spawn in water, with the exception of squid, and stay away from it. If you have a world with an iceberg in the middle of an ocean 16 blocks away from shore, mobs shouldn't see or attack you. It's best if you set up a house there, which is exactly what I did.
Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,
HOW DO FIND DIAMOND!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I've been mining months and no sign of diamond! What is the best method to mine it!? And no mods.
Sincerely, Erik

Dear Erik,
There are millions of methods for mining diamond. What you should do is first dig to the bottom of the world, then go up 7 blocks. Make a huge room, then you should find diamond. If not, make branches leading from the room. With patience and time, you should find diamond. Another method would be to drill down in a stair fashion. Once you hit bedrock (the indestructible block found at the bottom of the world) you drill up twelve blocks again in a stair fashion. Then drill to the right once you've drilled up twelve blocks.. You should find diamond four or three blocks to the right.

Dear Daniel,
How do make a nether portal? Can you tell how to build one in Minecraft in both Pocket Edition and PC?
Sincerely, Steve
Dear Steve,
In the PC version of Minecraft, you need obsidian. Make a 4 by 5 by one structure (4 blocks long, 5 blocks tall, and one block wide, with the middle empty). Then use flint and steel on the bottom of the top two inside blocks. A purple wall should appear. step into it, stay for awhile, and the screen should show that Minecraft is loading the Nether. After the chunks are loaded, you're going to be in the Nether. But making a portal in the Pocket Edition is completely different. You need a Nether Core Reactor, made with 3 diamonds and 6 iron ingots. Then you need 16 cobblestone blocks and 4 gold blocks. This portal only generates a Nether-like room, not an actual portal. The structure is a 3-by-3-by-3-not-so-square structure. The bottom layer is the 4 gold blocks on the corners with cobblestone filling up the spaces in between the blocks, including the middle. The middle layer includes the Nether Core Reactor. Put the reactor in the middle on top of the middle cobblestone. Then put cobblestone on the four gold blocks. You now have the middle layer done. The top layer is composed of cobblestone. Place a block of it on top of the reactor and place the other cobblestone blocks in a way so that the top looks like a cross. Your Nether Reactor is now finished. To activate it, tap the reactor either with you hand or an iron tool. A client message on the bottom of the screen will say "Active!", and the structure will become glowing obsidian except for the Reactor Core. The room will now spawn along with zombie pigmen. Fight them off, and your Nether-like room will be complete!
Sincerely, Daniel
P.S. Be sure you have a diamond pickax to get out because you can only mine obsidian with a diamond pickax even though there will be an opening for you to get out.

Dear Daniel,
What will be in the Nether? I know what will be in the Nether in the Pocket Edition but I want to know what will be in the Nether on the PC version. And I know how to make the portal.
Sincerely, Dave
Dear Dave,
In the Nether you will find new mobs and new materials. The Nether is a dimension with a whole lot lava, ghasts, and zombie pigmen. Ghasts are only found in the Nether and attack only when provoked. If they look at you and open their eyes, they will start to shoot fireballs at you. You can either shoot at the balls with arrows or deflect their balls with a sword. They drop gunpowder when they die. Another new mob that is often found there is the zombie pigman. They are immune to fire, so you may find them in lava. Zombie pigmen also spawn near Nether portals and are also created when a pig is struck by lighting. However this is a rare occurrence You will also find Blazes in the Nether. There are also Wither Skeletons wandering the Nether, and normal skeletons can be found in Nether fortresses. You might also find the Wither, the boss of the Nether, and unless you are prepared, it is advised not to fight it. Materials you can only find in the Nether are Netherrack, which is incredibly flammable, and it is advised not to make a house out of it, and soul sand, which is just like quicksand. Nether fortresses are found in the Nether. Skeletons are found in them and, if you want, you can renovate the fortress into your home.
Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,
How do you spawn the Wither? I just want to know how it will be like to fight it. I have a ton of recovery items and an enchanted diamond sword, it's just that I want to spawn the Wither.
Sincerely, Anthony

Dear Anthony,
You are going to have to take a trip to the Nether, as to spawn the Wither you need some Soul Sand and three skulls of the Wither Skeleton. The structure needed to spawn it is two dimensional. Place a block of Soul Sand on the ground. Then make a row of three blocks of Soul Sand on top of the block you just placed. Then place one Wither Skull on each of the three blocks. The Wither should start spawning. Then run away from the Wither. If you stay too close to it, it will grow larger and larger and eventually blow up, killing you. If you ran away, the Wither will have completely spawned, and you are now free to do whatever you want to do with it.

Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,

How do you make an End portal? I occasionally find a square made of an odd material. I think it has to do with the portal. Anyway, I just want to know how to make it.

Sincerely, John

Dear John,

You are right. The square made of that strange material is really the frame of the End portal. All you have to do is throw the Eye of an Ender until you find the square again, then place the Eye of an Ender in each of the blocks of the frame and the center of the square will go black. Get into it, and you will be at the End. However, you must defeat the Ender Dragon to get back, so it is not advised to enter it unless you are prepared.

Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,

What is in the End? I just want to know how it will be like so I can prepare myself.

Sincerely, John (Ironic isn't it?)

Dear John,
In the End you will find Endstone. Endermen will wander around, but no worry, they won't attack you unless you attack them. The thing you really need to worry about is the Ender Dragon and getting back to the Overworld. The Ender Dragon can destroy blocks, so you must find a way to destroy it. However, to destroy it, you must destroy the crystals atop the obsidian towers. However, the crystals blow up when you destroy them, so be cautious. Destroy the Ender Dragon, and a portal back to the Overworld will appear along with a spawner egg.
Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,
What is a mob grinder and how do you make a simple one?
Sincerely, Gregory

Dear Gregory,
A mob grinder is a large device that spawns and kills hostile mobs and gathering their resources. A simple mob grinder-type is the gravity mob grinder. This involves three components, the spawner, the pit, and the collection area. The collection area is at the bottom, which is where the mobs will hit the ground. There they will die, giving you their resources without actually having to kill them. The pit is above the collection area and must be at least 26 blocks deep. than at the top, is the spawner. If you're after the gunpowder of the creeper, or the bones and arrows of a skeleton, just make a pitch-black room. But if you want the meat of a cow or pig, you could use a mod to make a pig/cow spawner. Make sure that you test out the grinder yourself, although you might die. Then, once the collection area and pit along with the room are finished and are properly working, just wait for the resources. You could also use water systems to direct the mobs into the pit.
Sincerely, Daniel

Dear Daniel,
Help! I'm being chased and killed by this weird guy that looks just like me!
Sincerely, Peter

Dear Peter,
You have probably encountered the super-rare Herobrine. He is an entity that stalks, haunts, and kills players. He also builds random structures around the world. Otherwise, you just have an earlier version of Minecraft and a glitch is happening.
Sincerely, Daniel
